Default Question? ATF Filter for Caravan 3.3L (2004)

Hoping someone can assist regarding a question about the Automatic Transmission Filter for the 3.3L V6 Caravan (2004, with 92,500km).

Since having purchased the minivan used (at 65,000km), I have not opened up the transmission for a fluid/filter change (although I had the dealer do a pan drop and filter change at 75,000km).

My questions are:

  • Is the filter attached to the valve body/fluid pump by a TORX 25 (T25) screw?
Or is the filter simply snapped into place and kept into place via the o-ring?
  • Also, if I researched this correctly, what is the correct procedure for mounting the filter?Does the o-ring get placed in the valve body/fluid pump and then the filter put on,
Or do you stick the o-ring on the filter and put the filter on the valve body/fluid pump (I hear the latter may damage the transmission.
Clarification on both these elements above would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

When you replace the filter, put the o-ring on the filter first. The filter just snaps into place on the valve body.
