I own a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan EX. Today while sitting at a idle, the red battery light came on. Then the RPM needle made some strange jerking movements. I am guessing it may be a faulty alternator. Thank you in advance for your response.

You may need to ck for stored codes and post. I would start by checking the wires under battery and the battery sensor if you have one. Also ck the wire harness on the back side of the plenum, rear cylinder head for damage wires too.
