Default 2001 caravan transmission problem

I have a problem with my transmission. 83k miles. It doesn't change gears but that only happens when engine is hot. When is cold it's fine. It looks like it's on 1st gear while driving.
I went to the shop but I was told right away that I need new (rebuild) transmission for $1500 installed. it felt like a scam. I was reading that too much fluid may cause this problem so I checked and it was too much. Removed some fluid so now is in correct level but still gears won't shift. I had codes pulled and it was one for solenoid and one for tcm.
I appreciate any help.

thanks

Norbert

P0755 is a 2/4 solenoid circuit code. try replacing the solenoid pack, and clear the codes.

Because a 3.3 doesn't have 3 speed transmission. And there is only one solenoid pack.

Before I do that, is this a common problem that solenoid is bad?
Like i've said before when engine is cold it shifts all gears and when hot it's stuck on one.
If solenoid would be bad it would still be able to shift when cold?
If put so much money into this van that I'm want to make sure that it won't be wasted.

Thank you again
