We have a 2003 Grand Caravan and I just purchased a 7 way connector (part number 82208491AB) the install was simply a plug and play type and fairly straight forward. However once I was done and going to test it, this is were I encountered the problem. All the lights work ( on trailer and van. running lights ,left/right signal) except the brake lights on both the trailer and the van itself. Now when I unplug the harness all lights including brakes return to working order. So i guess my question is are the brake lights not working because I do not have my brake controller hooked up yet or is there something else going on.

Did the connector come with instructions? And is that a Mopar part number?

 

Yes thats the PN on the package the harness came in, as far as instructions go there was about 8 pages of simple diagrams, like I said the actual install was fairly simple.

 

Either the instruction has a mis-print or forgot to add a step to the instructions. Or the place you brought the part at, sold you the wrong part.

 

Thanks for all the help I called the dealer today and was informed he sold me the wrong part that harness is for 2004-2007 even after I asked him to double check the first time. Oh well I guess we all make mistakes.
