My A/C doesn't work as it blows no cold air unless 30 degrees outside, I took it to the garage and he says they can hear it leaking in the rear system and doesn't know how long it will take to fix but says he will give me a break on the recharging, says usually is 99.95 for dual system but will charge me only 69.95. Si is there a way to check anything before I leave in the trustworthy hands of a mechanic and hope he doesn't say $1,000 at the end of the day.

Before recharging the system, have them add a/c dye to the van. This way the leak can be founded with a black lite.

If you have an '06 minivan and your mileage is under 70,000 miles and the leak is coming from the rear evaperator, it is still covered under warrenty. It was extended on the '06 and the '07 vans. If you are over, you need the rear evaperator kit (pn CNTKX210AA) which runs $82.33 and the extension tubes (pn 5183256AA) which run $92.35. The labor to install should be below 4 hours so if they charge $100 / hr, shouldn't be more than $400 labor. Plus recharge.
