1998 Grand Caravan.

I have a rust issue starting so I am going to need touch up paint when I fix it. I believe it is alpine green but not sure if I grabbed the correct code under my hood. I just picked the one that started with a P.

So my 2 questions are, where do I find the paint code?

And where can I find the best price on touch up paint. The dealer told my $15 for a small can.

 

I guess it all comes down to how much paint you need.

I get my touchup paint from Advanced Auto Parts for around $8.00. It is color matched by mfg with the proper names of your color, no codes needed. It has a roller ball pen to use for scratches and then a small brush applicator for larger areas.

There is enough paint in it to cover around a 6" square area really good. Can't order it online due to shipping restrictions so you will have to find a store near you. Most big autoparts stores carry these so you should have no problem finding it.

I tried Advanced Auto Parts and Pep Boys. They don't have my color. Anyone know where the paint code is located on my model?

 

PAINT CODE
A paint code is provided on the body code plate located in the engine compartment. Refer to the Introduction section at the front of this manual for body code plate description. The paint and trim codes are also included on the Vehicle Safety Label located on the driver's door end frame.
