Angry Need help - computer/electrical

I appreciate any advice anyone could offer for a '99 Caravan. While driving around (local or highway), all gauges will randomly drop to zero and ABS and Alarm Set lights will come on. The van will continue running perfectly fine. Other times, when starting it, the engine will turn over...run for a few seconds and then cut off. And some other times it just wont start at all. A couple weeks ago, I finally just had it towed to a friends shop (b/c it wouldn't start for a couple of days). After he talked to the dealer, he replaced one of the (?) computer boards in it, and he drove it around for a few days, and it seemed fine. The 2nd time I drove it, after I got it back, the gauges dropped to zero just like before. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

I had the same problem. It's the solder on the connecting pin going in to the gage cluster. Take it out and resolder it. I had my 97 for two years before I figured it out. It's red plug in on mine and right were it pins in to the circut board. If you look at it with a magnifing glass you'll see cracks in the solder. I told My local cab company how to fix it and he has been buying up all the caravans he can find with this problem for real cheap. It fixes them every time.
