Question Looking for advice about new Caravan.

Growing family and looking to possibly buy a Dodge Caravan SXT with the dual-DVD entertainment and family value group.

I have already researched as much as I could but would like to hear firsthand from current owners what I can expect, what is likely to be a problem, etc...?

TIA

EDIT: One more question... any chance they will bring back a nice green like the Melbourn Green from 2009 MY?

I personally would not buy one of the Caravan/ T&C. Wait until they change the body style again. Worst mistake i ever made. I have owned Dodge minivans since the early 90's . The 2008 model is the worst one i ever had. This has more clunks and rattles than my 1997 has and its 13 years old. You will get no help from the dealers on the rattles and clunks. They say they look at it and you will get answers like they don't hear it (which is impossible) or it is normal for that type of vehicle. They are very nice looking. no major mechanical problems but for 30,000.00 you should not have to hear 20 different rattles and clunks. you will not be happy with it unless your near deaf or put a boom box in it and turn the radio all the way up.

Wind noise is also a major issue. the passenger side front is the worst on mine . When you get up to 65mph its sounds like you have a window cracked open . They caulked the sides of the windshield , did something tithe pillar and it still has the wind noise.

I'd like to thank everyone that has given me the information I was looking for. Hopefully they can make the proper corrections in the '11 refresh I have read about, otherwise I am at a loss if I should take the chance. I may just end up with the VW Routan if I can get a GREAT deal on one, only because their dealerships seem to be more helpful at attempting to correct the problems instead of calling it normal vehicle opperation as I have heard many Dodge/Chrysler owners have said about their dealerships.

Again, thanks everyone that have responded with good information.

well i have a 2010. every yr has its downsides, so far im happy with mine. I personally would stay away from first yr production. those are the "2008" yr ones his saying have all those little issues and same with the new "2011" to come out. new 2011 will have optional newer engine not yet provin. all in all its up to you how you feel in ride and quality. they have corrected most issues mostly transmissions issues in these passed yrs.
just change ya oil when the book says so.

As i understand, there has been a recent recall on Chrysler minivans. I'd like to hear from some of you with the vans to see if the recall has finally corrected problems you have had? Thanks.

so far recalls are minor, like door automatic thats been issue from day one really, wiring breaking, funny that they have recalled up to 2009 but the 2010 aint included. the only other issue i know of is power steering they need to install a nylon gaskit cause of -40 temps areas it leak.

mine just went to dealer oil change and they pulled up the recall bullitin (says they do that all the time, actually gave me a copy) and it has all info to your vehicle like what they did to prep it and all.
