93 Grand voyager
This van has probmatic ABS system. The dealer already replaced pump unit once but fix didn't last long. Now they say that the part is no longer
availiable. My question is, can you retrofit a regular brake system to this
vehicle? I have a 94 Grand Caravan awaiting a trip to the junkyard and it
has regular brakes. Will this fit my 93? I am aware that I will have to make some modifications.

Thank-you for the reply The dealer said the pump wasnt available and the dealer said if it was available it would cost over 3 grand to replace.
I have another question on a 88 dodge caravan. This van has a 2.5 L
engine with a 5 speed manual trans. The problem is that it will hardly run
when it is cold. Winter operation is out of the question. In warmer
weather it runs like crap until it warms up and then it is O.K unless you hit one of our New Mexico summer thunderstorms where the temperature
can drop suddenly. I have tried replacing the coolant temp. sensor, the TBody temp sensor, the TPS, AIS motor, fuel pump, fuel filters, T body unit, and a couple of different computers. Some of these parts were used but the problem remained the same irregardless.I replaced the MAP sensor about 5 years ago for another problem and have even tried swapping it
again with no better results. One thing that I have noticed is that the check engine light will not come on when the weather is cold but as the day warms up it will usually pop on when the key is first turned on, (for the typical 3 seconds or so) This van has over 400,000 miles on it so maybe it's time to retire it quartzite. Any insights will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. J.E
P.S I also checked fuel pressure. It was OK. We took this van to Albuquerque to 2 different diag shops and they didn't seem to know any more than I did. Too old they said. I guess they were used to stuff that was ten years old or newer.

On the 1988 van, cycle the key three times and leave the key on, then count the flashes of your power lost lite or ck engine lite. post the codes. If you have one quick flash, a second after two quick flashes= code 12. this is how you ck for stored engine codes.
