2002 Grand Caravan Sport electrical problems
hey everyone!
I have a problem with my 2002Grand Caravan Sport with around 130K miles. While driving home yesturday i got stuck in some highway traffic and after about 10 minutes of stop and go i felt the engine shutter when accelerating. Looked down and saw the coolant guage with the needle all the way at the bottom. The engine light and battery light came on also. Pulled over to take a look and the coolant resivoir was where it should be. Since it had coolant i went ahead and got it home. Just got done changing the temp sensor, i figured that was probably it and it didnt fix the guage reading nothing, well kinda. If I put the key in and turn it on but not start it it will give me a reading wich seems correct when the engine is warm. As soon as i start it up the coolant guage will go to cold almost in steps. The needle will drop alittle then stop, then more and stop... until it is at the bottom of the guage? has anyone had this happen to them? The codes i gaot off the computer are 1684, 0118, 1478. Any help would be appreciated!
I posted this on another forum and someone suggested i might have lost the 5v feed from the PCM. hoping maybe someone on here might have someting more to help me out.

Welcome to DF
P0118 is the ECT volts too high. This will cause a no start problem. ECT is engine coolant temp sensor. Make sure its plug in. If your connection are good, start looking at the wire harness on the rear cylinder head. Its common for the wires to get to hot and start melting.

well here is the latest. I checked out the wireing harness behind the rear head and everything looks fine as far as I can tell. I had a friend come over last night with a code scanner and we cleared all the codes except the 1478 it wont clear it. Drove it to work and back and here are the codes i got tonight:
1684
0118
0132
1478
1699
I cant even find a definition for 1699 anywhere online?
Aslo while driving it home tonight, another strange problem. In addittion to the batt and engine light, the ABS and Brake light came on. A few seconds after that the blower went on high and nothing i did on the climate control pannel did anything. The power light for the blower wasnt even on(had the fan off when this happened).
The van starts fine but it is running pretty rich, if i let it idle in the the driveway you can smell it running rich.
