Default 2006 Grand Caravan electronics problem

Over the last few weeks we've had 3 instances when the van will not turn over, power locks, windows and other electronics will not work and there is a rapid ticking from the console area. When allowed to sit for 30-60 minutes, it will start and run without problems. Have taken it to our mechanic who has been unable to replicate the problem and thus no diagnosis. Any thoughts?

OK. I've cleaned both terminals on battery. Could it really be that simple? Thanks.

OK. I've chased both of those issues down and the problem persists. Frequency is increasing to about once a day. We're noticing that when we use only the swinging driver and passenger doors there is no problem. If we use the sliders, then we may have trouble. Any additional thoughts? Thanks.

Both, actually. The driver side automatic slider has not worked for some time. The passenger side still works and is used most of the time.

here's what you need to do, get a digital multimeter, put it in volts dc setting and do some electrical meaurements at the battery when you have the problem, then do a measurement at the the wire terminals and do a measurement the engine block ground and do a measurement to the positive wire at the power distribution center.

you either have a bad battery or an intermittant bad connection at either the main ground or power wires
