Default CA-CLUNK sound when going over bumps.

2000 Dodge Caravan

Our van started making a light "cla clunk" type sound with a sort of rattle whenever we go over speed bumps or other bumps in the road. I can hear them only at speeds under 20mph (perhaps road noise drowns out anything at higher speeds).

I've jumped up and down on the back of the bumper and tried listening and feeling for anything loose and can't find anything. It does have new shocks on the rear and they're tight and no sound coming form them.

Any ideas?

take off rear shock and re-test under conditions. if still there, take off spare and re-test, if still there, have someone ride in back and re-test to try and pinpoint if still unsuccessful. have someone ride under vehicle and re-test

Unless your absolutely sure the noise is originating from the rear end ?
Very common noise of this type comes from worn front sway bar bushings, been down this road on several Caravans,

Ok so I figured out part of the clunk/squeak sound is coming from my left rear brake drum. I figured it out when changing a tire and noticed I could wiggle the tire front and back with enough play to get a squek/clunk. Is this normal? If so, or not, what is the cause?

The rear end clunk on our 2001 was coming from the spring to shackle bushings
that had worn through.
