I have a 2000 dodge caravan 2.4 liter 3 speed just last nite in horrible rain storm it developed a horrible knocking sound in the engine. the sound seems to get worse as u excellerate. I was thinkin it was mayb my lifters,but dont really know any body got a thoughts to wat it might b and how to fix it.

 

sucked in water into the motor and did damage to the crank/rod/and or piston.

Were driving in the rain storm,or was the van just sitting? If you were driving and this problem happen after driving,ck the oil level.If it is way up on the stick,then good chance you could have bent a rod.But i would need more information on how it happen.
