96 caravan tranny problem

so my 96 grand caravan blew the pin in the tranny so i opted to change out the tranny with one from a 2000 caravan as im told both trannys are the same well now i cant get the pin on the torque converter to slide into the driveplate what am i doing wrong help me please![Frown](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/frown.gif)

If you asking about the flex plate. 1996 thru 1997 1/2 need to replace the flex plate when you replace the transmission. Also the pins going the TRS are not the same either. The early vans have round pins and the newer vans went to flat pins. There is an updated jumper connector for these transmission. If you need the part number i do have it.
