What are you using as a scanner to ck for codes? The engine is not the only reason for the ck ngine lite too come on.

neither of which are very accurate. a real scanner is the BEST way to problem solve check engine light issues.

If you know someone that works at a dealer, that can scan it with DRB3 or as sapporo had stated, maybe a good snap on scanner. Autozone scanners will only give you engine codes, not transmission,ABS or any other modules.

Codes are not always the result of the item or system they name. They are often a symptom created by another problem. Replacing parts based on code name is almost ALWAYS a losing proposition. Yeah...maybe you'll get lucky sometimes. If you can please list the codes so we can help you.

Autozone generates a TON of walk-in business by offering to read codes with a less than adequate scanner. They want you to buy their parts, and when you're wrong...you don't get to return them. One of the biggest scams perpetrated on the American public in years.

The right way to use this service is to get the codes, write them down then go and search for the technical info related to these codes and run the tests if you are able and inclined to do so.

ok have not found the problem yet but did find out that the 3 computers are not talking to each other. but they will talk to the tech computer. so there is a communication problem now we just need to trace it down and get them talking again.
