Our Malfunction Indicator light came on today on our van. It is NOT flashing. We live in Minnesota and have had lots of snow/ice/sleet etc the last couple of weeks. is there any chance that gunk is interfering with something and making this light come on? Or is is most likely the catalytic converter?? Does anyone know the approximate repair/replacement cost of a catalytic converter for this year of van?
If it is a catalytic converter problem - what is the code that would show up on the computer when plugged in??
The other question I have is related to paint. The very edge of our hood looks like someone took a blow torch and bubbled the paint all along the front edge of the hood. it is not broken, rusted or any kind of marks, just bubbled pain. I'm wondering if there have been any recalls regarding pain on this year Dodge or if this is just something that happens over time.
Any help to these questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Moey in Minnesota

Just to let you know that I just fixed the P0420 code on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan this weekend. I only need to replace the downstream O2 sensor + adding the check engine light eliminator adapter (cost ~ $30 total).
