Default no auto choke

2001 dodge caravan se

i'm from wisconsin and it is about 2 degrees below zero. when i started the van the other morning it started rough and the rpms where at 600. usually they are about 1500 when starting, and its been doing it ever since. i assume there is an automatic choke or something. where should i start? Is there a wire that is common to falling off, corroding? i am use to older chevys with a carb, so i'm kinda at a loss.

thanks

There's no choke with a fuel injected car so you can rule that out. A possibility is the coolant temperature sensor is giving the computer an incorrect reading leading it to think the engine is already warmed up.

The AIS motor may need to be clean or replaced. ( Automatic Idle Sensor).

http://

heres where the IAC(AIS) lives, BEWARE!!! if you remove it dont turn it or depress or pull on the pintle, just clean it. You want to put it back in in the same position you removed it.
clean the orfice that it sits in as well with some TB cleaner and a q-tip
