Default Replaced fuel pump, now fuel gauge is screwy?

Hi guys, first time posting here, looking for some ideas...

My wife has a 2000 Grand Caravan. Three weeks ago, the fuel pump went out. I had it towed home and ordered a new pump. This last week the weather was warm enough to melt the majority of our snow and ice so I decided today I'd replace the pump. No issues, went real smooth. I finally got it started and it was running nice so i decided I'd take it for a quick spin.

I put it in reverse and the gauge drops to empty and the low fuel light comes on now. When I put it in drive or park, it comes back up to the fuel level and is fine.

Why would it do this? I only disconnected the fuel pump electrical plug and nothing else and this van never had this issue before.

Any thoughts on why this would happen? I'm thinking I should go fill the van up, perhaps it's got something to do with the computer?

Thanks in advance!
Phil

Welcome to DF
I would recheck the wiring connections and the ground wire too. you may have a pinched wire.
