Default Confused? Think Computer is junk code 31, stalling, instruments die

'97 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L Auto w/ac
I bought the van in Mar '10, blink codes have been reset; van starts great but on cold start sill stall at traffic lights unless in neutral, works great about 15-20 minutes of driving later or after parking for a while... no blink code. while on holidays after many miles starting almost missing randomly while at highway speeds, but not during acceleration just travel speed started about 1 week ago. The other day the odometer and shift selector blanked out and tach and speedo said about 1500 rpm and 20 kms with engine off... no codes. all worked later couple starts later. Did instrument cluster diagnostic, now tests ok. Next day eng. light comes on. code 31

(<LI>Code 31-Evap purge solenoid circuit
-Evap purge flow monitor failure / Evap leak monitor leak detected / Leak detection pump solenoid circuit or switch or mechanical fault-leak detection pump switch does not respond to input. Evap leak monitor pinched hose found-plug or pinch found between purge solenoid and fuel tank.

Where do I start or how do I know if the computer is fried or how should I approach this issue?

Welcome to DF
The 1996 thru 2000 NS bodys, have had some problems with the cluster and ignitions switches. Your first problem maybe the cluster. Has far as the next problem, ck the purge solenoid for vacuum and ck all the hose's going to it. And also ck for any pinch wires going to the purge solenoid too.
