'00 dodge caravan speedometer shows 20Km/H when car is stoped
After fixing the solder of the instrument cluster connector ( due to the famous dead cluster problem), the speedometer shows 20Km/H when car is still, even when the engine is off. As soon as you turn the key to first position,( just radio and aux.) the speedometer jumps to 20Km/H. And during driving it is as if showing extra 20 to the real speed. Any suggestions are highly appreciated
hi, I did that and no error code is shown and the speedometer do the test , and in the test it also do not go to zero. another thing is as if the body control unit also see the wrong speed, because the doors still are locking at 45Km/h although the real speed is much slower. and also the transmission is shifting at the wrong speed ( actually at the speed shown by the speedometer and not the real speed). could be the speed sensor? or is it related to the instrument cluster after I fixed the soldering? the speedometer is still showing the speed and it changes as the car accelerates, but it begins at 20 and advances from there.
