Default Fuel Consumption

2010 Grand Caravan advertised fuel consumption is 12.6 L/ 100km city driving.

My average of four full tanks is 14.8 L/ 100 km.
Is anyone has a such stats?
Thank you.

Not an apples to apples comparison, but I have a 2003 Grand Caravan Sport with the 3.8L and just turned over 80,000km last month.

I average 14L/100km mixed. Advertised consumption is 13L/100km city and 8.6L/100km highway. Not a happy customer. My 6.5L turbo diesel 3/4 tonne truck got better economy than this van in the city. Not exaggerating.. I keep track of them both!

I've done regular oil changes with synthetic fluid, regular air filter changes, cleaned the throttle body, etc. This spring I'm going to try changing the oxygen sensor and fuel filter and see if that helps.

I am also having major fuel issues with my new 2010 Grand Caravan.

I do almost no highway. Just back and forth to school with my kids.

I have 1500 km on the van and I am averaging 25 L/ 100 km !!!

The van is currently at the dealer and they say they can't find a problem. The van has a 76 liter tank and I am only getting about 275 km's per fill up !

I told them that I am not taking the Van back and that they better find the problem or give me a new Van.

Any suggestions ? Is this a problem that anyone else has had ?

I traded in my 2003 Grand Caravan and a fully expected to get better not worse fuel consumption.

We have to do something to stop faulty advertising with Chrysler fuel consumption.

I have a 2010 Dodge Caravan SXT, 3.8L purchased last Septemeber. I had a 1997 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L that I purchased at a year old. I used to get 17-18 mpg in town and 25-27 mpg hwy with the 1997. I am only getting 12-14 mpg in town and maybe 18-22 mpg hwy with the new 2010. I'm apalled and frustrated since I know I drive fuel efficiently to no avail. Dealer says he can't find anything wrong either. I also fee a bit of what I would describe as hesitation in the engine upon acceleration, perhaps a sticky throttle pedal or something but they can't seem to find anything their either. Not sure what else to do to find the problem.

Connect a scanner capable of recording fuel scheduling data then compare to normal specs.
