Default 1986 caravan miss liberty

I just purchased a 1986 DODGE CARAVAN MISS LIBERTY edition.
The van is in mint condition with 90,000 miles. Has two small sunroof over the driver and passenger. I haven't been able to find out anything about this van.

currently it only has the two front seats and 1 bench seat.
Does any one know if I can put a 3rd row seat in it, and what years would fit.
and any information on the miss liberty edition would be very helpful.
thanks...
Tim

Welcome to DF
Does the van have the 2.2/2.5L,2.6L or the 3.0L engine? I don't remember if there was a 3rd row in the van.

Default 2.6

Its a 2.6, The transmission seems to be slipping a little. We just got the van yesterday so I haven't had a chance to look at it. My wife say it slips after she drives it for about 20 minutes, I am thinking it not cooling correctly?

Have you checked the transmission fluid level? The trans may need to be serviced and adjust the bands, and adjust the kick down cable. Is the cooling system overheating?

I actually drove it last night, My wife has been complaining that the transmission was slipping. But when i drove it with her last night there was nothing wrong with it. I did notice however that it seem to idle very high, and doesn't seem to kick down, also I can really seem alot of gas when its first started.

Thank you
Tim

You could have a bad EGR valve or sticking, causing an vacuum leak.Which will give you high idle, or the choke is stilling on too long and needs to be adjusted.
