Shudder & mil code 37
Okay, so like a good home mechanic, I thought I would change my tranny fluid and filter the other day. I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan SE 3.0L 3 speed. After changing the fluid my car now shudders at idle and when accelerating to about 35 mph. If I manually shift through the gears it doesn't shudder too bad. But in Drive it does.
I also have an OBII code P0743. I have a new TCC in there too. I am using ATF +4. I called Dodge today and the guy told me that they would put ATF +3 in my car since it's a 1996. What the heck!? The tranny is not slipping or making any noise.
Anyone have any ideas ... other than buy Japanese?
Thanks

"ever since I fixed my car..." Classic
there is no such thing as ATF+3 unless the dealer has a really old stash of it in the warehouse. It's been like 10 years since 3 was changed to 4. That guy is full of baloney. It could be you messed up the gasket on the filter.

ATF+3 still around. Is it common for tranny shops to have it on hand?
Anyway. 90% of the fluid in my 96GC's 41TE is and has been ATF+4 for at least 4-5 years. Works just fine. http://dodgeram.info/tsb/2006/21-010-06.htm

Well, the gasket was in perfect. Ever since I changed the tranny fluid for the first time and put in ATF +4, I have had a shudder from about 30-40 mph. Dang, it's driving me nuts.
One Dodge dealer said to use ATF+3, another dealer said ATF+4!?
What the heck? Any thoughts?
thanks
