Default 96 Caravan 2.4L stalled while driving and won't start, does turn over

Towed it home, hooked a computer up and got code 54 which is cam sensor.

Replaced cam sensor no change. Still get code 54.

A mechanic told me it might be the crank sensor, can sometimes shows cam sensor code, replaced and still have the same problem.

Another mechanic said it could be ignition coil, replaced and no luck.

Checked fuses, can hear fuel pump turn on, and appears filter isn't clogged because gas is getting to throttle body.

Pulled a wire and put a plug in and it look like it is not getting a spark.

Any ideas.

Thanks for any help.

put a crank sensor in it. These things set a cam sensor when crank goes out because it doesn't know which sensor caused a sync issue.

"crank sensor"

That was the second thing I replaced, still not working.

Have it towed to a mechanic. Cuz your problem is going to beyond a simple sensor.

So far you replaced cam sensor, crank sensor and coil pack?

Just wondering how gas is getting to the throttle body? That would be a serious problem since the throttle body is a suppose to be dry and the fuel injectors are quite a distance from the trottle body.

Has someone checked wire continuity and reference voltage from the PCM to the sensors? No corrosion/damage at the sensor connections or PCM? I'm seeing more posts about corroded/broken wires in a wire bundle under the battery lately due to battery acid. Not sure if the wires in question run through there but it's worth a look.

Well I may have misspoke there, gas is getting to the engine, I pressed the release valve by the engine and gas came out.

Have you removed the upper timing cover and inspect the timing belt? That will also give you a cam sensor code too.

Yep, a broken timing belt sure will cause no start and a cam code. But the guy says he has no spark and the crank sensor runs off the crank? So if the crank is turning, wouldn't you still have spark but no run since the cam isn't turning? IDK much as I'm not a technician, but in my limited experience, when I broke a timing belt on a 2.4 in my old stratus, I still had spark but no run.

Set Condition
Signals are not received from the camshaft position sensor. When signal are not received from the crankshaft position sensor. The camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor share the same 8 volt supply wire. So it is possible to have no spark. I do have a PDF file if you want me to email to you.

Oh, seems like he needs to chase around to see if the 8v. reference is at both sensors. when my timing belt broke on my 2.4 stratus, I still had spark even though the cams were not turning so no cam signal was generated.

Easy way to determine this is a quick compression test if the person is not mechanically strong enough to hear that compression on cranking sounds different.
