Default 2006 Hesitation - Rough Engine

Hi,

I have a 2006 Caravan 3.3L

The engine is hesitating at low speeds/rpms (1,200 - 1,600 rpm). it only happens when cruising, acceleration is fine, no engine light.

During last oil change, dealer said I may have a lower intake gasket leak (it was not the diagnostic of the above issue, but not sure if that is the cause)

Any ideas/suggestions?

---

Update: just read the codes and got P0404 - EGR

:-)

Found EGR valve procedure in the DIY section.

Will replace it, everything seems to indicate is that..........

By the way, where can I find diagrams/schematics for the Dodge Caravan? e.g. parts numbers, engine diagrams,......

You can get wiring diagrams, many repair procedures, recalls, service bulletins at EBSCO/ARRC. You can access it if your local library carries it and you have a library card. They will give you the password and away you go. It's free.

Thanks, that is quite helpful !

-------------------

Quoted the EGR valvle @ dealer: $180 + Taxes

Is there a way to test if the valve is in fact the issue?

You'd need a scan tool to be able to see when the valve was applying. If the valve isn't seating, you pretty much have to replace it and go from there. EGR valve issues are pretty common.

Thanks. I do not have access to a scanner so I guess will take the risk and change

I got a small coolant leak in the ground Today; have been unable to trace back but I was told it maybe the lower intake gasket. Have not found pictures or instructions here yet....

is the leak on the passenger side?
might be the water pump,

I just noticed this last month on my 06 that my water pump as some coolant seeping out the bottom of it,

for mine you can see the bottom of the water pump a pink snot ball about the size of a quarter, will need a flash light and a few mins to look everything over

might not be leaking on yours, but just thought I would throw that out

Update

Replaced the EGR valve and cleared the codes; hesitation seems gone and no more engine check light !

Have not been able to trace the coolant leak and the level has not dropped --at least on a way that is clearly notcieable-- will keep an eye anyway.
