Anyone else have any issues with their factory jack? I was stuck on I-70 changing a tire in Indiana and had my van lifted by the side of the road when the bolt broke and dropped the van on the ground. The scissor bolt looked porous where it broke off and just sheared, fortunately I wasn't under the van and it doesn't appear to have damaged the van. This was the first time the jack was used and it just broke under the weight of the van it came with (Made in Canada). Wondering if anyone else had a similar incident. I will attach photo of the jack later.

 

I use my stock jack all the time on my 06 with out a problem, was it on an angle? fully extended?

 

Actually, it wasn't at an angle or fully extended. It just broke.

I called Chrysler customer service, explained the situation. I told them they owed me a jack. I have to meet with an investigator at the local dealer today.

 

yep that does look like a clean cut. seems maybe a bad one. i think i be getting a better jack if this does not handle the weight.

 

Thats scary, what if someone were under the vehicle !?
