Default electrical freak out

I am brand new to this forum and I need some help. I have a 2008 Grand Caravan SXT that is possessed. The electrical controls (windows, locks, etc.) work fine when the driver door is closed. When it is open, nothing works and I get a little light show on the dash (random warning lights on and off) and then the window wipers turn on by themselves. Any insight? Thanks

Unusual. I've been reading thread after thread about chaffed wire harnesses on the bottom of the sliding doors causing multiple system problems. The front doors is a new one. Zero experience with 5th generation (08-11) vans except what I read on multiple forums and websites.

Very likely still a CAN data bus problem. If it were a power wire shorting to ground you would see blown fuses and dead systems. I don't have wiring diagrams but I'll assume you have a wire bundle running from the frame to the door to maintain the door lock/power window circuits. Both of these circuits are on the data bus. I would look there for chaffed wires. You could check for codes either with a scanner (free at Autozone or the like) or with the key cycle method. Is the service engine soon (SES)light on?

No check engine light. I read about 3 posts down and it sounds like the same thing. I will run the wires and pull some codes. I literally made the last payment the night before it started acting up.

Do you know if the van is still under warranty?

Peel back the rubber off the harness in the doorjamb and fix the broken BUS wires.
