LOOSE steering wheel
Greetings all!!
I've been a long time lurker, mostly in the Intrepid and Sebring forums, but this problem is with my wife's T&C.
It's a 1999 Limited. At any time, ie sitting in the driveway, driving down the road, etc, the steering wheel can be moved left, right, up and down at will.
It moves quite a bit. It was very disconcerting at first, almost felt like it was ready to come off the shaft in my hands!
I've done a search on the forums and not found anyone else with this problem. Can anyone give me a direction to go?
I've tried pulling straight out on the wheel, and it's solid.
My next step is to pull the airbag out and see what the story is... not sure if the nut came loose or what. I found one post about some kind of snap ring that may have popped loose... any thoughts??
Thanks all... Forums ROCK!!

Hi Ron
My first guess would have been a nut on the steering shaft. Does the van have tilt steering? If you have tilt steering, one of the springs could have broken off. You would need to take it apart and inspect the problem.
