Default 2002 Caravan SE transmission and or ecectrical problems

I am new to this forum and need some advice...my 2002 Caravan SE has recently had transmission slippage issues. Typically the slippage would come with a brief power outage (everything momentarily goes out) but came back with no loss of control. The slippage got worse and so have the power outage issues. The engine goes completely dead and I have shifted to neutral to restart the car while still in motion. Most recently, it would not restart and is now in the shop (after being towed). When the tow truck arrived, I was able to start it and back out where the truck could pick it up. I have no idea what the problem may be or what needs to be done to fix it. Can anyone shed some light on this problem???

Welcome to DF
Did the check engine light come on? and when the engine stalled did all the lights come the cluster? The could be a sensor or a wiring problem. But without any information on what codes are in the van, either engine or transmission module. I would be just guessing.

Default RE 2002 Caravan SE Transmission and or Electrical Problems

Master tech, thanks for your response. Some additional info. Check engine light did not come on...yes all the lights in the cluster came on and the P, D, 3, 2 had squares around them (limp/home mode I assume) and there were no codes (trans or engine) reporting as told to me by my mechanic. The car started for them, they have driven it on several occasions and so far it has not duplicated the issue for them. Does that give you sufficient info to hazard any guesses??
My mechanic is scratching his head over this one.
Thanks for your help.

Try checking the connectors under the battery. Sometimes that will cuse a no start problem. And ck the connectors at the PCM and TCM too.
