2002 Caravan Sputter
Hey there!
I've got a 2002 Caravan with 100k on it.
Recently, the check engine light came on and I noticed the van doing a rumbling thing when idling. The code read an ignition coil issue, so we had it replaced.
It has done this sputter thing for a few months now when the air conditioner was on and we hit 40 mph and then 60 mph; and also when coming to a stop. We thought changing the ignition coil would stop that, but it didn't.
Our mechanic told us that nothing's wrong with the car, and if there was, the check engine light would come back on(spark plug issue, fuel line, etc.). If this is the case, why is it sputtering? I don't believe it's a trans slip, although that's what my description sounds like. You can feel it at high speeds, even when the speed is steady.
Anyone experience something like this? The check engine light is NOT coming back on, but how do I convince the mechanic(or a different mechanic for that matter) that something is going on?
