Default U0249 Lost Communication With Entertainment Control Module - Rear B249

We have a 08 Caravan and we had to take it to the dealer because our rear video screen became inoperative. The rear screen worked fine until one day it flickered and then went blank. We moved the screen to another position, it flickered again and hasn't worked since. After a $104 diagnostics, we were told that we had a lost communication with the entertainment center. They wanted another $300 to take out the components to see where the problem was. Needless to say, its back at the house without being repaired. Any ideas???

yeah... sounds like u got a Dead DVD unit.
all these gadgets and options will just nickel and dime you in the long run. Shoulda bought Max Care extended waranty when u have a Fully loaded vehicle and expect it to run like new.

You can always go Aftermarket for a Sony, Pioneer, type Units from Bestbuy or accessory shops, would be cheaper that way.

Did the entertainment package come with the van or was it an add on ? If it came with the van, would it still covered under warranty?

Default Entertainment Control Module Part Number and Location

Hello,

I had the same problem. The dealer told me it was a bad DVD player and a bad Entertainment Control Module. Does anyone have the part number on this module and where it is located? I believe that it may be in the overhead console, but I am not sure. I ordered a new DVD player off eBay from a wreck from $99. So I have half of what I need, but I can't find this module on any technical drawing or spec sheet. I think it may be integrated into the front screen, but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated!
