Default 2004 Caravan 3.3L replacement motor

I think my motor just died. What other years would be compatible - easy drop in?

2001 thru 2007, You may need to use the manifolds and flex plate from the 2004.

I bought the Chiltons Manual. Bold print top of engine section says this is not a job for diy mechanic in home garage - don't even think about it. I had no choice. Unemployed and broke. Got it done but they were right. That job is a nightmare. Easy drop in is not what I would use to describe it.

These engines are very easy to swap. Takes me about 10hrs total R&R. pulling a 6.0 diesel out of a Ford truck is much more difficult IMHO.

Master tech is dead on with what years. you just need to watch for changes in wire harness plug designs, and minor changes in fuel system (e-85 vs. regular fuel) best to use sensors, manifolds, fuel rails/injectors off the bad engine to ensure proper compatibility. www.car-part.com great source to find engines/interchange.
