Default Safety Recalls and Technical Service Bulletins

I apologize if this is covered elsewhere...I only searched on the 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan

RECALL: Safety Related and covered by Dodge - NHTSA.GOV - Search for Recalls

YEAR: 2011 MAKE: DODGE MODEL: GRAND CARAVAN returned one "Recall."

Make: DODGE Model: GRAND CARAVAN
Model Year: 2011
Manufacturer: CHRYSLER GROUP LLC Mfr's Report Date: JUN 07, 2011
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 11V315000 NHTSA Action Number: N/A
Component: STEERING:COLUMN

Summary: CHRYSLER IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011DODGE JOURNEY, JEEP WRANGLER, CHRYSLER 200, CHRYSLER 200 CONVERTIBLE, DODGE AVENGER, DODGE NITRO, JEEP LIBERTY, DODGE CALIBER, JEEP COMPASS, JEEP PATRIOT, DODGE GRAND CARAVAN AND CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VEHICLES. SOME OF THESE VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN BUILT WITH A MISSING OR INCORRECTLY INSTALLED STEERING COLUMN PIVOT RIVET.

Consequence: A MISSING OR INCORRECTLY INSTALLED RIVET COULD COMPROMISE THE ABILITY OF THE STEERING COLUMN TO SUPPORT THE OCCUPANT LOADS IN THE EVENT OF A FRONTAL CRASH, DECREASING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE FRONTAL IMPACT SAFETY SYSTEM. AS A RESULT, THE CONDITION MAY INCREASE THE POTENTIAL FOR INJURY IN A FRONTAL CRASH.

Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT FOR RIVET PRESENCE AND ALIGNMENT AND REPAIR THE STEERING COLUMN PIVOT AS REQUIRED, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 4, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHRYSLER AT 1-800-853-1403.

Thank you. Some of these recalls may not apply to all the minivans, The dealer would need to do vip or function 14 to see if there is any incomplete or outstanding recalls.

Has anyone here been to service and had to have the repair done? Have there been any issues with the missing rivets?
I just received the letter today and will be going in tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

I just read the release and they expect less than 30 vehicles total to have an issue.

I just spoke to service and they say if parts are needed, they will have to be ordered, so the repairs will not be done on the same day if the problem is found.

I wonder if the line doing the rivets had a liquid lunch that day...lol
