No brake lights on '01 Dodge Grand Caravan
Hey all,
First post and hoping someone can assist.
Just got through replacing the radiator on my wife's DGC. New hoses , antifreeze, clamps and had to replace the radiator fan too because the blades were destroyed on it. Whew, quite a bear getting that radiator out with the lines for the A/C condenser in the way.
Anyhow, one remaining issue is the side brake lights aren't coming on. The CHSML (Center high mounted stop light) does come on when the brakes are depressed. I replaced the brake pedal switch this morning hoping that was it, but no dice. I've visually inspected the fuse and it seems fine, but I should probably check continuity on the fuse just to be sure.
Any thoughts for something else to check?

Welcome to DF
Have you check the rear brake light bulb? If you did replace them, I would next unplug the connector and check with a 12 volt test light for voltage at the connector. If you have voltage, then the circuit board for the rear lights maybe shorted internal.

Hey guys,
Thanks for replying. So sorry that it's taken a while to get back.
I had checked the bulbs before ever messing with the radiator stuff (trying to get a quick fix). They looked good at the time, but the problem was that I had checked them at night.
So not long after I had posted, I went out to check them again and sure enough, both sides were burned out.
Sigh...
So I have a new brake light switch for no very good reason...
Thanks again for the help. Note to self: Check brake bulbs in daylight.
