the difference is that the 82212000 is for the Mopar Dealer installed kit.The reason why it is longer is because the ipod cable is an optional cable in the Mopar kit. the Mopar kit does not have the connector that we discussed (the rectangular connector) mounted. You said that you did find the connector so you would use the shorter cable (82212001). This cable will connect to the mounted cable.
The other cable would run from the Uconnect module to the glove box.
Hope this helps.

So the 82212000 would work with an RBZ?

Ok, perhaps I have missed something here. Did you say that you found the rectangular plug in your vehicle? The connector would allow the plug in the attached picture to plug into. If you do not have this connector, then you will need the 82212000 cable.

OK, so I stand corrected. I knew that Chrysler is talking about a new mic placement instead of the rear view mirror mounted mics. At this time the only vehicle with a headliner / "A" pillar mounted mic is the Wrangler. So the way to still tell if you have a factory installed Uconnect system is the mic. If you have a rear view mirror with the mic, then it is the factory installed system. If you have a mic that is mounted with 2 sided tape on the "A" pillar then this is a dealer installed Mopar kit.

Well, there is an easier way (at least on my 2011) I just found in the Owner's Manual. All ya have to do is hit the button.

If you have one it will talk back to you - if you don't it actually displays a message saying it isn't available!

Come on now vpnavy. The information that was provided was not tell "if you HAVE Uconnect or NOT. It was to help him figure out WHICH system he has. This is to insure that he gets the correct cable. So when the Uconnect lady comes on after pushing the button does she say"Hello Uconnect user, you have a factory installed system and not a Mopar dealer installed system"?

OK xsdbs - take a deeeeeeeeeeeeep breath! I guess I did get "off topic" a little and am very sorry if I got you upset. I just figured it would be interesting to see how to tell. Again - sorry if I caused a problem.

Thanks for the suggestion of a "deep Breath". Not upset at you, it's one of those days here at work today. Trying to concentrate on a couple of issues and I have people coming at me (here at work) with things unrelated to my work. I know, stop whining. Have a good day.
