Default UConnect and USB Questions!

I have two questions...

1. I have the Media Center 430 CD/DVD/MP3/HDD that came standard on the Crew. Occasionally, when I turn on my Radio I get the UConnect Banner. However, when I hit the Press For UConnect Phone it says it is unavailable. Can I assume that is because the 430 didn't come with that feature. If so, why in the world would Dodge still display the banner?

2. I tried to Copy Pictures To The Hard-Drive to the HDD. However, while the Soft Key CD Option is selectable the Soft Key USB Option isn't. I was able to load up a few pictures by moving it over to a CD though...

Thanks!

The U-Connect feature is an additional module. The radio's are built with the ability to operate it so they carry the banner. It is probably an addable feature.

As far as adding the pictures, the radio should have come with it's own manual and it should explain it in there, I have personally never attempted it, sorry.

It did and I followed it. Unfortunately, like I mentioned, the Soft Key USB Option isn't selectable.

If the vehicle does not have a mic on the "A" pillar near the drivers visor (for 2011) or in the reaR VIEW MIRROR (FOR 2010). Then this will tell you that it is not installed. There is a Mopar kit available with an optional Ipod cable for around $300 for the main unit, mic & harness. The optional cable is around $50 (I think).

Those of you that remember the 8 track days, oh when things were simple, huh.

well thank you gentz. I was going by the fact that Chrysler has started to use the healiner locations of the mics for better sound quality and VR reconition. (as has many other automotive companies)
So with being wrong on the location of the mic, IF he does not have the rear view mirror with the mic then he needs to get the Mopar kit.
