Default 2008 Caravan rough shift when cold

I just acquired a 2008 caravan. When its cold the shift from 1st-2nd and when slowing 2nd-1st is rough as soon as its warmed up after driving a bit its perfect. What would cause this and any possible fixes.

Thanks

What kind of oil do you have in the transmission and is it clean? In general almost every car (unless it's a CVT) would shift rough on cold. Of course rough doesn't mean any really uncomfortable shifting.

It has as far as I know whatever the factory recommends. I haven't changed it but it looks pretty good.

It may just need a reflash of the computer. How many miles on the van?

It has 90K on it currently. Once you drive for a few minutes its fine. But when its cold if you are going slow or come to a quick stop it seems to have an issue and shifts harsh.

I have been reading alot and i am debating taking to the dealer for a drain & fill and a reflash

Default Cold Shfting Issue

I have seen this happen when fluid other than ATF+4 was used, such as MERCON or DEXRON, I would try a fluid change as first step.
