Hi all,

I have been getting a misfire which feels like a shudder under moderate accelleration, 3rd gear torque converter locked and a code 43. If while accelerating I ease up on the pedal enough, the misfire goes away and if I get into it more, the torque goes out of lockup which seems to ease engine load enough for it to also go away.

The van is a 96 with a 3.0. Plugs, wires, cap, and rotor done about 4 - 5 months ago.

Any ideas? Anyone else dealt with this on a 3.0?

I would do a compression test and maybe replace the spark plugs, wires,rotor and dist cap.
