Default Grand Caravan ABS questions.

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan ABS Light on. No brake light on. Brakes seem to work fine.

Code reader gives following codes:

Left rear sensor circuit malfunction

Left rear speed signal malfunction

Hydraulic Pump circuit malfunction

Valve power feed malfunction

How do I diagnose what is actually wrong from here? I dont want to just start replacing parts. Thanks so much.

1 - Check Fuses
2 - Lift up Fuse Box and check for corosion or broken wire
3 - Check for Powers and Ground at the ABS connector, will need to remove battery to gain access to ABS module, and use a Jumper wire for test.

These codes sounds to me like you lose Power feed to ABS module or Pump.

Check Pin #9, #10, #24 for power. Key ON engine OFF.
pin #1 and #16 for ground.

The L/R sensor code could be related, and could be a Dead sensor. But you have to fix the Other codes b4 the Sensor code.

Take EXTREME caution when removing ABS connector. These connector Breaks easily if not removed properly.

The dealer pulled a bunch of codes like that on my 95 Concorde only to have been caused by a bad LF sensor that was physically damaged. No ABS light or codes since.

Be sure while you check all those connections, to actually physically look at the connectors and the sensors! I brought up a code one time (unrelated) and went to go replace it only to find out, it was unplugged!

Thanks so much! I will try checking all the wires and connectors. This site is amazing. It is so nice that everyone takes the time to give detailed answers. I will post back with results.

Fuses good.
Wires under fuse box good.
Power and ground to all but 24.

What next?

That wire comes from Fuse 9, 40 amps. The Wire is Connector #4 under PDC, Pin 7.
Tho, you might have to look for the same colored and Thickness wire under the PDC. according to the book, this connector should be Blue

measure the voltage out of the PDC, and measure continuity between the PDC and the ABS module.
This is probably your problem.

Boy do we feel silly. The ABS light in our Caravan was on. Turned out to be our emergency brake had been accidentally engaged when my husband got in the driver's seat. Never thought about it being the emergency brake!
