Default 1996 Dodge Caravan Transmission?

Hey guys just a quick question. I have a 1996 Dodge Caravan with the 3.8L. Starts and runs just fine, but it stalls soon as you put it into gear, sometimes it will go if you rev it up then put it in gear, but I know that's not good for it. I'm wondering if there is anything I should check or replace, or is the torque converter screwed?

Thanks for any help!

Welcome to DF
I would say your torque converter is in lock up and it shouldn't be. It maybe time to replace the front pump and torque converter and a seal kit.

Thank you, and thanks for the reply. SO you think its easier to find a new/used transmission and just replace it? Or is replacing the torque converter the easiest?

I'd pull the pan and look for obvious metal parts. You will have to pull the tranny to change the torque converter or rebuilt unit either way.
