A clunk sound comes from the transmission when my 2003 Grand Caravan slows down... could you please tell me what could be wrong?

Has any work been done on the transmission? Could be a loose motor mount, drive axle nuts or the clutch volume is too high in the transmission.

no work has been done on the transmission. When I put it on D (drive), it makes a clunking noise, and when i put it on 3, it does not make a noise...

I would check the axle nuts (165 ft pounds) and the motor mounts too.

I just checked that and nothing is wrong with the axle nuts OR the motor mounts... when I am cruising on 70+km and I slow down to 20km-30km, it makes a clunking noise. Thanks for your help.
