Default New to Dodge Caravan Vans and need to post mechanics stuff

Hi all, I am new to this site because I picked up a used 1999 dodge caravan with "Service engine soon" lights on. I did down load DTC and it says no codes stored yet light stays on. I tried the erase codes and same result. Light stays on and no codes are recorced. Really appriciate any insite as to why you can get the Service Engine Soon light to come on without any codes.
Thanks

Welcome to DF
Did you use a scanner to check for stored codes? I'm going to move your post to the minivan section.

try removing battery to reset. other than that might need a computer to read codes and reset.

I am also new to Dodge Caravans and to posting. I have a different problem which I tried to post on this site, but I am not sure if I did it correctly, so I am jumping in on this post. This problem is with a 2009 Grand Caravan. I am experiencing difficulty shifting to park. If I cannot shift to park I cannot start the vehicle. So far I have been able to jiggle it from R to P but I am nervous it may leave me high and dry some day. Also all shifting in general is getting stiffer to shift. Any suggestions?

Puzzled, check the linkage at the transaxle. There's a pinch bolt on the D shaped shaft; make sure it's tight and positioned correctly.

Do you still have warranty on the van? Because the problem is with either then shifter assy or the WCM( Wireless Control Module). If you have a problem starting a posting, let me know. Just drop me a pm.

Yes and it said there were no stored codes. I then pressed the erase all codes button and tried again. Upon putting key in and engaging ignition, the service engine soon light is still lit. Again scanned it and results are same...no codes stored in memory. Appriciate any help
