Default 1997 Plymouth Voyager not showing shift indicator after transaxle replacement?

I just changed out the transaxle with another one off another voyager that had a good transaxle. Its a 3.0, 41te. The shift position sensor has a different connector on the new transaxle then the old one, so I removed the valve body off the old trans and try to just hook the sensor up direct in the park position to make sure it would work, its not showing anything. All the lights are on, on the indicator. Any clues?

Anytime you disconnect the TRS sensor connector, you will go thru a few key cycles before the shifter shows what gear you are in.
