I have a electric window problem with my 2001 grand caravan.

Driver side problem - The window will not go down without assistance which means if I click the button down an push the window down I get about 1/2 to 1 inch. I keep this up to get the window down to the level I want. To get the window up requires two people. One to push up while the other pushes the toggle button up.

Passenger side problem - It Can behave like driver side, but it can go down on its own (very very slowly), sometimes. It can go up on its own but very slowly and sometimes not all the way. This one is tempermental, somtimes it works and sometime it doesn't and when it does it feels like it is struggling.

Does anyone have an idea on how to troubleshoot this problem. Is it motor, electrical, or some other type of problem?

 

Replace the regulator assy. in both doors. The cables are binding. This was a big problem with Chrysler. In 2003 they designed a different regulator for the window systems.

 

replaced regulator/motor assemblys and also use silicone spray and lube the window runs.
