Default When will the TIPM shortage be resolved?

Going on 3 weeks that my Caravan has been sitting at the dealers waiting for a TIPM. Does anyone know when this part will become available again?

I love the van, but will probably never buy anotherone after this. Not only is the repair going to be close to $1,000, but we are going on $1,000 for a rental car right now.

Appreciate any info! Thanks!

I am going on 9 days without my 08 Caravan waiting for the same part. I am still waiting to hear from Dodge about when the part will be available. I have exhausted all means...online parts, scrap yards etc. with no luck finding one. Dodge did provide me with a rental at their cost since I called corporate.

Thanks for the tip. I called and they are hooking me up with a rental car, not a van. Helps convenience wise, but I will still need to rent a Uhaul van a couple of times a week for my business, so the bleeding continues.

I really do not get this supply issue. From what I have read, it has been going on for over a year now. Pathetic.

Good luck with the rental, they would only give me one for a week and would not extend my rental. Not very good customer service if you ask me, definitely will stay away from Chrysler/Dodge in the future. I have an estimated eta for my tipm part arrival of June 18th, so my van will have sat behind the dealership for 28 days. Very disappointed with the customer service!

Be sure to file a complaint with the NHTSA so maybe someday a recall may be issued and force Chrysler/Dodge to stand by there products.

We were at the dealer on Tuesday and the service manager checked with their distributor. What he was told is that the manufacturer had missed a delivery date. There is no ETA for the part at this time.

TIPM = Total Integrated Power Module. A fancy fuse box. Runs all the electrical components. It fails and your systems go nuts.

Picking up our vehicle today after almost 7 weeks. They did provide a rental these last 3, so I suppose they did what they could, but I would not wish this experience on anyone else.

Cheers!
