Did a Google search and based on Wolf's own PDF this ATF is not listed as being suitable for ATF+4 transmissions. Here is the URL to the line PDF for this ATF so you can see for your self that Dodge is not listed.

You're living on the edge using anything besides an AFT+4 fluid. There are around 30 brands all licensed by Chrysler Corp. Wolf's Head isn't one of them. http://www.centerforqa.com/licensedatf4brands.html

Thanks for the replies. The shop that rebuilt my transmission swears by it and more importantly is covering it by warranty for 5 years. At any rate, they could use soup and would still be liable to repair it.

Just because it isn't authorized that is not an indication it will lead to early death, it just means you are stepping outside of what has been tested and is known to work for a questionable benefit. Personally I also made this step and am using Amsoil in my grand caravan, but many others are not so willing as they don't feel the benefit outweighs the risk.

It is good that the transmission shop will stand behind it, and the PDF mentioned above actually indicates that it IS recommended for ATF+4 applications, they just list it in a funny way (under American Motors and under Jeep). I suppose if the shop will back it up then why not?

zero10,

The difference between Amsoil and Wolfs head is Amsoil states its ATF was made to meet the ATF+4 specification, they just did not spend the $$$ to have there ATF as licensed Chrysler ATF+4, as for Wolfs head no where do they state their ATF meets the ATF+4 specification.

Both Amsoil and Wolfs head state that their transmission fluid is suitable for use in transmissions specifying ATF+4, there is no difference in that, and neither of them are actually certified, again no difference.

According to this Wolf Head App Chart from 10/25/2011: http://www.wolfshead.com/specsheets/...lsynthetic.pdf Dodge/Chrysler AFT+4, so if as you say its approved then I take it they have updated there App Chart some time in 2012.
