The stalling problem would almost have to be a torque converter staying locked all the time. The fuel guage could be any number of things, like a fuel level sending unit, a bad fuel guage, or wiring problem.

My 96 3.0 gas gauge is wiggin out goes up and down then sends the 'low fuel idiot light on. The Sending unit on that Mod is part of the fuel pump as well.....(Thanks Dodge) Your local parts store has them for 156.00 approx. Dont want to give free advertisement to auto parts stores, so look under stores that start with the letter "A" if you know what I mean. Now on to your Trans... If you remove your air box take a light and look down you'll see a 2 pin conector pluged into the right side of the trans i think there's two diff ones so you'll have to scope it out your self. Your hands prob wont fit so get some long needle nose or just shove your hands down there and give it a try. OK, now what this pin cont. does is engage your lock out un plug it see if the trans works at all. Its just helps @ speeds of 45 mph apprx. If that doesnt work pull your dip stick and smell the trans. fluid. If its burnt smells like it or if its not a rose/pink color. I'd pull your pan and replace the pick-up filter. from the factory you'll see black silicone sqwishing out from the pan. this way you know no one has been there since you have bought the van. I also have the procedure to flush out the entire trans system, If you'd like. If not bring it to a garage and have them do it. Im assuming you know how to turn a wrench.

DONT FORGET: use only ATF III in your trans.

Hope this helps,
Toe
