Default 1997 T&C LXi Transmission problem...

I have had this van for about two weeks and this morning the wife gets in to goto work and van will not move. Starts fine and when you shift into reverse you can feel the transmission engage but it will not move. RPM's go up and it feels like the brake is on. Pulled all of the ABS relays and fuses. Same problem. Checked brake calipers and they are fine. Van rolls in neutral with engine off. With engine on, van will not move forward or reverse or roll in neutral. Once in a while when shifting between gears, it will start to roll in Drive but then after about a foot abruptly stops. Almost like you have thrown it into park. Only code is a P0420 (cat converter)...dont think that has anything to do with trans problem. So I'm down to either the TCM or Trans Control Soleniod. Any help would be greatly appreciated before I start spending $$$...Thanks!

I went to the junkyard today and pulled a TCM and installed it with no change. Down to autozone for a brand new trans control solenoid and installed that, same problem. Van will roll in N with engine off but as soon as the engine is on, will not move. Any suggestions at all???

You may have a internal problem with the transmission. Try unplugging the solenoid pack and see if the van will move in reverse and limp in mode gear, which would be 2nd gear. If it does move, then the transmission either needs to be overhaul or replaced. Sorry

Unplugged the solenoid pack and was able to move in reverse (although there was a lot of clunking) and in Drive, in 2nd gear. So based on that my next stop is tranny shop...

The planetary gear maybe the cause for the internal damage.
