2003 GC tranny slip
Went to move my wife's Caravan (104,233 miles) this a.m. and was greeted with no movement in drive. I put it in reverse, no movement.....then back into drive-after about 10 seconds it engaged. Drove it around a bit and didn't notice any problems (shifted just fine), turned off engine and restarted everything fine. No check engine light, fluid doesn't have a burnt smell and shows full.
I was going to change the transmission filter and fluid at my next oil change but now wonder if it would be a waste? Or instead just take to transmission shop and go from there?
Thanks

Sometimes if the transmission hasn't been move for sometime, like two days or more. The front pump may have bleed down and need to be started and let it build up some line pressure in the transmission.
That makes sense, especially when i consider 104K miles on the ATF. I haven't seen anything negative on Valvoline ATF+4 here on Dodgeforum So i'll do the fluid/filter change later this week and see if the new fluid viscosity holds pressure a bit longer.
Thanks
