Leave key off and pump the brake pedal about 30 times and then turn the key on. Do you hear the ABS pump coming on and does the yellow light for the ABS come on?

Master Tech:
Yes I can hear the pump coming on and the yellow ABS light did come on and after a few minutes it went out but the red brake lighjt on the diagnostic console stays on, When pumping the brake pedal 30 - 40 times do I suppose to have some brake fluid spillage from the master cylinder? I also bleed the brakes again and it is okay no air bubbles at all, I was checking all the connectors to make sure they are plugged in and they are, What I did notice is that the 60 pin connector on the CAB, On that harness it has a 4 pin test port connector that is not connected to anything at all and I cannot see where it can be hooked up to, It has no plug in for it, Another thing when my vehicle when my vehicle when in for a wheel alignment I did not have no brake problem at all I was wondering if this could have done something to my vehicle as I did not have them do the wheel alignment?

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it.

How does the electrical connector on the master cylinder look? Sure looks like your alignment folks did something otherwise it's one huge coincidence.

That tells me you have a bendex 10 brake system. There was a recall i believe it was recall 685. But that will only cover and piston package. you could have a duel function switch that has gone bad. But you would need to pull the codes out of the ABS module. Also like cougar had said, check the fluid level and correct way to check the fluid is to discharge the system. Pumping the pedal 30 times and then check the fluid.

When you disconnect the brake pedal switch you cut of one power sources for the light. Have you disconnected the parking brake switch? That's another source. Have you talked to the shop that did the alignment?

Question Brake failure, Parking brake lights on all the time

Thanks for your response, When I disconnected tha brake pedal switch, the diagnostic red light on the console still lights, I also disconnected the relays one at a time for the ABS pump and various circuits for the brake but the red light still light. I am also looking for wires that were tampered or out of order nothing.
When the switch is off adn I pump the brake pedal about 40 times, Wouls some fluid be expelled form the master cylinder?

Thanks

When the fluid comes outs, that means the master cylinder is too full.
